After watching this movie, I do believe that "Women and men can never be friends" sentence was popularized by these dynamic duo. Being strangers at first, then after many years of friendship, they admit that they do love one another.I think When Harry Met Sally brings universal truths about being single and falling in love (in mature age). They really exposed what men and women really felt and really thought about.
Besides, the movie gives the characters time to be mature and see other people and make their own mistakes, handle fears and hangs-up.
We can see Harry and Sally have grown up together, have matured until they’ve become the people who they actually are and finally can see clearly what they really want in a partner. That makes the character so genuine.
Now I know why When Harry Met Sally is still regarded as one of the finest romantic-comedies ever made.
Not just because the feel of related to, but this movie has everything that works for their genre. The chemistry, storyline, and well-executed dialogue.
Every character can bring dialogues that flow smoothly, funny, relaxed and smart in flawless performance. They both make whole movie seem real and down to earth.
If Harry was real, it's hard for me to not falling in love with him. He is smart, funny, sweet, and sarcastic.
And of course it's because When Harry Met Sally had the theme/core idea of eternal questions that makes the movie should be awarded in one word: timeless.
So, is it possible for man and woman having "just friend" relationship?
