Craving for rom-com movie with nice plot and full of warm feelings? Then go for While You Were Sleeping. Maybe not the best in that era, but I'm sure it's gonna be must-watched rom-com movie all the time.
Here is Lucy, a lonely woman who lives with her pretty little cat in tiny apartment. She works daily as a booth attendant for the Chicago Transit Authority. Ordinary girl who is living her mediocre life.
But a dashing and charming commuter, Peter, has caught her eye an and light up the sparks in her heart, that makes her secretly dreams he will be the one.
The universe seems to hear, because the accident came and make destiny cross paths, but sadly in unfortunate way.
It makes Lucy getting close not only with Peter, but also his brother, Jack, and his whole family. Even though a misunderstanding is what keeps her close to them.
Peter's family giving all the love and affection which she hasn't felt for a long time. Suddenly her life become more colorful and cheerful. She does feel guilty inside but remain confuse how to make clear everything that is up in the air.
More so, her heart speaks who is she truly loved and wanted, and that's not Peter anymore.
At first, this movie bringing audience to think a storyline like cinderella waiting prince charming and wish they live happily ever after, but trust me, While You Were Sleeping is not that boring.
Sandra Bullock and Bill Pullman chemistry is nice, not too much and far from cringe moment. They both look so pure and sweet.
I personally think While You Were Sleeping is perfect movie to rewatch whenever I feel down. It leaves me with a warm fuzzy feeling after, and more important, the movie reminds me if life doesn't always turn out the way we plan. Because sometimes life provides something better.
